I've had good progress with my practice this week, although I must say it's hard to stay patient. To let my body work into the postures on it's own time and not over work or stretch my muscles. This month I'm doing two yoga challenges on instagram (see which in this post or by following my instagram here). They are both great for someone who is new to the practice, or are getting back into it. Now that I've done an entire week I thought I would revisit the yogasanas each week to try and track my progress. I would love to hear about yours too! The more we share, the more we learn!

Action Plan
December 17, 2014
I've been stuck in limbo since I finished my bachelor and every single day my chest feels a little tighter. Like it's harder to breathe. But I'm not one to give up, so I'm making a plan. I believe success is the direct result of will, consistency and hard work, and as the daughter of a professional goal achiever, I will follow my father's expert advice and make a plan. Today I'll reflect on my main goals and tomorrow I will develop more of a plan of how to get there.
Becoming a yoga instructor has been a dream for a few years. At the moment I don't feel ready, but unless I make concrete plans to complete a course in the near future, I will be saying that till its too late.
I have so much I'd like to share and I rely on blogs for inspiration and information. I've made amazing friends, discovered incredible destinations and I keep finding inexhaustible sources of inspiration to be more creative and live a better life. I hope to contribute to this pool of inspiration and perhaps eventually make a living of it.
In Norway most universities are completely free of charge, however, for some reason the creative disciplines doesn't seem to hold as much value to the government and thus aren't as widely supported. There are a few sponsored spots, and I mean a few, like 15-20, and they are for master studies, not bachelor, so when I decided to study interior design in order to get into the creative industry (not to become an interior architect) a private school was the only option. I chose to spend the money because I want to be challenged creatively every day and have a job that I love.
No matter what, these are the overarching hopes for my life.
Vegan Wonder
November 29, 2014
I would love to live a purely vegan life, perhaps even raw food vegan, but I don't think it'll happen. At least not any time soon. Over the years I've learnt that I'm the kind of person who needs a consistent external environment to commit to certain types of lifestyle changes. Hopefully lots of yoga and meditation can help me change that and become a more "settled" soul, but for now it is what it is. That doesn't stop me from pretending though! In the end it's about what makes me feel good, inside and out.
In Norway we have a very limited selection of foods for people with any sort of restriction to their diet. Even something so common as lactose and gluten free alternatives are hard to find. A good example is how I've only ever come across one coffee shop that offers soy-milk, and it was located at the airport of one of Norway's largest cities. I hope that over the summer, when I move down south, I'll have more options and it will feel more natural to chose plant over animal.
Back To Basics
My wonderful vegan breakfast consisting of pure coconut water, antioxidant-filled blueberries, green tea with chamomile and last, but not least, the daily essential when in Norway; orange!
I've been a vegetarian for over 6 years, but last summer I started eating fish to see if it would give me a punch health-wise. I've given it a solid try, but I really don't feel much of a difference, if any, so I've decided to go back to vegetarianism, but to adopt an even more plant based diet. From experience I know that dietary changes requires dedication, but I want to eat with a clean conscience and go back to feeling amazing in my own skin, so it's a commitment I'm more than willing to make.
Living in this age of time makes it so easy to find inspiration and help to make lifestyle changes and mold your mind and body to become the person you want to be. I hope that this blog can be a sort of inspirational space consisting of inspiring texts, tips and pictures I've accumulated.
I'm off to walk my little dog, Tia, and then work, but please share your tips and thoughts in the comments below!

Embarking on my yoga journey
November 28, 2014
I've been doing yoga on and off for a few years. When I moved abroad for college at seventeen I stopped dancing and yoga took its place. I don't actually think I knew I was doing yoga in the beginning. Listening to music and doing my stretching routine always had a meditative effect on me. It helped me relax, regenerate and focus.
After an exhausting final year of university, heartaches and let-downs I re-discovered yoga and its healing effects. This summer I made the decision to go to India one year from now to do a 200 Hour Teacher Training Course. As of today I will do yoga every day till I arrive at the retreat in India. Once a week or so I will post an update and summery as well as share my plans for the coming week.
I think it's beneficial for the yoga practice to have some sort of intent or objective. I often find it very hard to get into the right state of mind in order to reap the full benefits of doing yoga, thus one of my main goals is to spend more time meditating and practicing "letting go" or "shutting out" the noise. I also hope to develop a greater inner calm and gain physical strength and stamina.
I hope you will take part in my journey, comment and share your own. Reading about other people's yoga practices has given me so much inspiration which is one of the reasons I wish to share my own.
